4.4 Magnitude Earthquake Jolts Islamabad and Nearby Districts, Triggers Panic Among Residents
ISLAMABAD: Residents of Islamabad, Swabi, and Attock experienced tremors from a 4.4 magnitude earthquake, causing widespread fear and panic across the region.
According to the Seismological Center, the quake struck at a shallow depth of 14 kilometers. The tremors lasted only a few seconds, prompting people to rush out of homes and offices while reciting prayers.
The epicenter was located 11 kilometers northeast of Burhan in Attock, the center reported. No casualties or property damage have been reported so far, but authorities continue to monitor the situation closely.
The sudden quake has stirred anxiety among local populations, highlighting the need for awareness and preparedness for seismic events in the region.
