ANF conducts nationwide raids, seizing over 55 kg of drugs and arresting seven suspects across Pakistan
ISLAMABAD: The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) carried out a series of nationwide operations targeting drug smuggling, arresting seven individuals and recovering more than 55 kilograms of narcotics valued at over PKR 83 million.
According to an ANF spokesperson, six major operations were conducted across multiple cities, resulting in the seizure of significant quantities of ice and cannabis.
In Lahore’s Wapda Town, a raid on a courier office led to the recovery of 19 kilograms of ice skillfully concealed in a shipment destined for New Zealand. Near Karachi’s Super Highway, authorities recovered 19.2 kilograms of cannabis from a suspect, who was taken into custody.
In Sheikhupura, two vehicles were intercepted near Kala Shah Kaku, yielding 12 kilograms of cannabis and the arrest of one individual. Islamabad authorities seized 3.6 kilograms of cannabis from a vehicle at a motorway toll plaza, while another vehicle near the Sangjani Toll Plaza led to the arrest of a suspect with 1.1 kilograms of cannabis.
Additionally, Lahore police intercepted two motorcyclists carrying 558 grams of cannabis, resulting in the arrest of three suspects.
ANF officials confirmed that all arrested individuals have been charged under the Control of Narcotics Substances Act, 1997, and further investigations are underway.
