Michelle Pfeiffer opens up about taking a leap of faith for Taylor Sheridan’s new Paramount+ series.
Michelle Pfeiffer admits it was a leap of faith to join Taylor Sheridan’s latest project without a script but one she doesn’t regret. “I realized I was either going to take a leap of faith or take a pass,” Pfeiffer says. That leap brought her to The Madison, where she stars as Stacy Clyburn, a city mom adjusting to life on a Montana ranch after tragedy strikes.
Kurt Russell plays her husband Preston, who tragically dies in Episode 1, leaving Stacy to navigate grief and the challenges of rural life. The pair, who previously worked together on 1988’s Tequila Sunrise, shared instant chemistry on set. Pfeiffer calls Russell “my protector, my confidant, my court jester,” highlighting the joy he brought to the production.
Russell praises Sheridan’s writing and working alongside Pfeiffer as a “winning proposition,” while director Christina Alexandra Voros emphasizes that the show wouldn’t be the same without both actors’ performances.
“The first season takes place over six days,” Pfeiffer explains, “so you kind of enter into that state of mind and stay there.” The emotional depth and authenticity make The Madison a must-watch drama, now streaming exclusively on Paramount+.
