Precision strikes target militant infrastructure as Pakistan escalates counterterrorism operations across the border
Pakistan’s armed forces carried out precision airstrikes in Afghanistan’s capital, Kabul, and eastern Nangarhar province on the night of March 16 as part of Operation Ghazab-lil-Haq, targeting infrastructure allegedly linked to militant activity.
According to official statements, two sites in Kabul associated with technical support systems and ammunition storage were successfully destroyed. Security sources said secondary explosions observed after the strikes indicated the presence of large ammunition stockpiles.
In Nangarhar, four additional targets described as militant-related facilities were struck, resulting in the destruction of logistics hubs, ammunition depots and technical infrastructure.
Officials said all targets were carefully selected and linked to networks accused of supporting militant proxies, including groups identified as “Fitna al-Khawarij” and “Fitna al-Hindustan.” Authorities emphasized that the operation was conducted with precision to minimize unintended damage.
The strikes come amid heightened tensions over cross-border militancy. Pakistani officials rejected claims from Afghan Taliban authorities, describing them as misinformation.
Military sources said operations under Operation Ghazab-lil-Haq will continue until objectives aimed at safeguarding Pakistani citizens from militant threats are fully achieved.
