A five member medical board conducted a follow up examination of Imran Khan’s injured eye at Adiala Jail, in the presence of his wife Bushra Bibi. The board formed by the Chief Commissioner of Islamabad under a recent Islamabad High Court order spent approximately two hours assessing the former Prime Minister’s eye condition.
According to jail officials the team included ophthalmology experts Professor Nadeem Qureshi Dr. Arif Khan Professor Altaf Hussain, Professor Akhtar Ali Bandesha and Dr. Ali Arif accompanied by supporting medical staff and a fully equipped government ambulance. The assessment aimed to evaluate progress before administering the third injection following two prior treatments at PIMS Hospital.
The medical board will submit its report to the Chief Commissioner of Islamabad detailing the condition of the affected eye and any recommended next steps.
Separately, Pakistan’s Information Minister Attaullah Tarar confirmed that Imran Khan’s children will be allowed to speak with him via phone on Eid. He added that the sons can visit Pakistan using NICOP cards without visas and must fully comply with Pakistani laws during their stay.
The developments provide a crucial update on both the medical and family access arrangements for the PTI founder.
