Minister highlights Africa Day as a symbol of unity, cultural harmony, and expanding Pakistan-Africa cooperation.
Africa Day has been marked with renewed calls for global cooperation as Pakistan reiterates its commitment to strengthening political, economic, and cultural ties with African nations.
Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar, addressing a “Happy Africa Day” ceremony, described Africa as an emerging and dynamic force in the global economy. He said Pakistan views the continent’s progress as a shared opportunity for development and mutual prosperity.
Highlighting the significance of the day, the minister noted that Africa Day reflects resilience, unity, and the collective vision of overcoming challenges through cooperation. He said Pakistan is honored to stand alongside African nations in celebrating their cultural diversity and achievements.
Tarar also welcomed the designation of the current year as one focused on sustainable water use, emphasizing that water remains central to life and development. He linked Pakistan’s historical identity to the Indus Valley Civilization and the Indus River, underscoring their cultural and civilizational importance.
He further stated that relations between Pakistan and African countries are strengthening under the “Engage Africa” policy, aimed at expanding diplomatic engagement, trade, and cultural exchange.
