Ali Nasir Rizvi has been appointed Director General of NCCIA, while Captain (Retd.) Muhammad Sohail Chaudhry has been appointed Inspector General of Islamabad Police.
ISLAMABAD: The federal government has reshuffled the leadership of Islamabad Police, appointing Captain (Retd.) Muhammad Sohail Chaudhry as the new Inspector General of Islamabad Police and Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi as Director General of the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA).
Under the latest changes, Captain (Retd.) Muhammad Sohail Chaudhry will head Islamabad Police, while Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, who was serving as the capital’s inspector general, will move to the NCCIA.
The appointment brings Captain (Retd.) Muhammad Sohail Chaudhry to the top policing position in the federal capital. As IG Islamabad, he will oversee the police force’s responsibilities relating to law and order, crime prevention, investigation and public safety.
Meanwhile, Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi has been appointed DG NCCIA. The agency is responsible for investigating cybercrime and offences involving digital platforms and information technology.
The change in leadership comes through a federal government reshuffle involving senior police officers and key law-enforcement positions.
Captain (Retd.) Muhammad Sohail Chaudhry is a senior police officer with experience in various policing assignments. His appointment as IG Islamabad places him in charge of policing operations across the federal capital.
For Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, the new assignment shifts his responsibilities from conventional policing in Islamabad to the country’s federal cybercrime investigation framework.
