A formal complaint letter has been sent to key officials, including the Chairman NAB, Governor Punjab, and Chief Secretary Punjab, raising serious concerns over alleged financial irregularities in a multi-billion-rupee development project. The letter, reportedly submitted by a legal expert, questions the transparency and legality of the project.
According to the document, there are claims of violations of procurement laws, lack of transparency in feasibility studies, tendering processes, and financial structuring. It also alleges that the project may have been initiated without proper legal and financial approvals, bypassing the procedures of the Planning and Development (P&D) Board.
Further concerns include the absence of competitive bidding and fair contract distribution, with accusations that influential individuals were favored. The letter warns of potential misuse of public funds and authority.
Authorities, including NAB, FIA, and Anti-Corruption departments, have been urged to conduct forensic investigations. It also calls for the release of PC-1 documents, tender records, contracts, and audit reports, and demands a halt to funding and project activities until investigations are completed.
Sources claim that a strong contractor mafia dominates projects in Lahore under “Suthra Punjab,” limiting fair competition and keeping tender details undisclosed.
