Information Minister Attaullah Tarar says the people of Azad Jammu and Kashmir have endorsed development-focused politics, urging opponents to respect the democratic mandate.
Pakistan’s Information Minister Attaullah Tarar has said that the people of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) have delivered a clear verdict in favor of development, public service, and performance-based politics during the second phase of the AJK elections.
According to Tarar, the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) has secured a simple majority with a strong lead in the second phase of the polls. He claimed that the election outcome reflects the confidence of voters in the party’s governance and development agenda.
Responding to criticism from political opponents, Tarar said those making allegations against the election process should present evidence to support their claims rather than making what he described as baseless accusations.
He emphasized that while political differences are a normal part of democracy, all political stakeholders must uphold democratic traditions, demonstrate tolerance, and respect the public mandate expressed through the ballot.
