BISE Rawalpindi revises the Intermediate Second Annual Examinations 2026 schedule for Jhelum students following the district administration’s request ahead of Maryam Nawaz’s expected visit.

RAWALPINDI: Students appearing in the Intermediate Second Annual Examinations 2026 in Jhelum will have to wait another 20 days to take their Computer Science papers after the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) Rawalpindi postponed the examinations due to Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz’s expected visit to the district.

The examinations, originally scheduled for November 10, will now take place on November 30, according to an official notification issued by BISE Rawalpindi.

The decision followed a request from the Jhelum deputy commissioner, who informed the board that extensive administrative, security and protocol arrangements were being planned for the chief minister’s expected visit to Jhelum and Pind Dadan Khan on November 10.

In a letter addressed to the BISE Rawalpindi chairman, the deputy commissioner explained that the deployment of administrative officials and security personnel for the high-profile visit could affect arrangements for the smooth and uninterrupted conduct of examinations across the district.

The district administration therefore recommended postponing the papers to avoid inconvenience to students and ensure that examination arrangements would not conflict with the preparations for the chief minister’s visit.

Acting on the recommendation, BISE Rawalpindi rescheduled the Computer Science examinations for both morning and evening groups at examination centres across Jhelum district.

Board spokesperson Arslan Cheema confirmed that Controller of Examinations Mubashir Saeed had issued the notification announcing the revised schedule.

Under the new timetable, the morning group’s Computer Science paper will be held during the morning session on November 30, while the evening group’s examination will take place during the evening session on the same date.

The board clarified that the postponement applies exclusively to examination centres located in Jhelum district. Students appearing at centres in other districts under BISE Rawalpindi’s jurisdiction will sit their Computer Science papers on November 10 as originally scheduled.

No changes have been announced for candidates appearing outside Jhelum.

To facilitate affected students, BISE Rawalpindi will issue fresh roll number slips reflecting the revised examination date. However, candidates who have already received their roll number slips do not need to worry, as their previously issued slips will also remain valid.

The postponement means affected students will receive an additional 20 days before appearing in their Computer Science examinations.

The revised schedule follows the district administration’s preparations for Maryam Nawaz’s expected visit, with administrative, security and protocol arrangements cited as the reason for the change.
