Pakistan and Egypt reaffirm close bilateral ties and agree to continue consultations on regional issues through multiple diplomatic channels.
Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sen. Muhammad Ishaq Dar held a telephone conversation with Egyptian Foreign Minister Dr. Badr Abdelatty on Tuesday night, discussing bilateral relations and the regional situation.
According to the Foreign Office spokesperson, the two foreign ministers reaffirmed the close and brotherly relations between Pakistan and Egypt during the conversation.
The ministers also agreed on the need to maintain close consultations on developments in the region and issues of mutual concern. The discussion focused on continued diplomatic engagement as regional developments remain a key area of coordination between the two countries.
Dar and Abdelatty agreed to continue communication and consultations on regional matters through various channels, including the foreign ministers’ platform of the Regional Four (R4), comprising Pakistan, Egypt, Saudi Arabia and Türkiye.
The two sides also agreed to meet in New York on the sidelines of the upcoming session of the United Nations General Assembly.
The Foreign Office said the conversation was part of efforts to further strengthen the close diplomatic and brotherly relations between Pakistan and Egypt.
