Newly disclosed ATC communications indicate the cargo aircraft reported a navigation system malfunction and requested radar vectoring moments before contact was lost over the Arabian Sea.
Pakistan aviation authorities have disclosed the final recorded communication between the crew of the K2 Airways cargo flight and Karachi Air Traffic Control (ATC), providing fresh insight into the events leading up to the aircraft’s crash in the Arabian Sea.
According to the available details, Flight KTA-1732 encountered a technical issue with its navigation system while operating within Karachi’s airspace. At approximately 16:17 UTC, the captain informed Karachi ATC of the malfunction and requested radar vectoring to safely continue the flight.
During the exchange, the pilot also reported that the aircraft was rolling, indicating possible difficulties in maintaining stable flight. Shortly afterward, communication with the aircraft was lost, prompting aviation authorities to immediately activate the emergency response plan.
The cargo aircraft crashed into the Arabian Sea on July 7, 2026. Officials have not yet released the final investigation findings, and the exact cause of the accident remains under examination. Aviation investigators are expected to analyze flight data, cockpit recordings, and technical evidence to determine what led to the fatal incident.
