Lahore Court Grants Bail Extension to YouTuber Ducky Bhai’s Wife Until Feb. 4

LAHORE: (Click Pakistan) On Tuesday, a sessions court in Lahore granted an extension of the interim bail of the wife of a famous YouTuber, Saad Rehman, aka Ducky Bhai, in a case against the alleged illegal promotion of online gambling applications.

The case was heard by additional Sessions Judge Mansoor Ahmed Qureshi, whereby, the National Cyber Crime Wing (NCC) requested further time to provide the full investigation record. The court accepted the request and allowed the accused to have interim bail that had been extended till February 4.

The ruling will enable the wife of Ducky Bhai, Aroob Jatoi to stay out of custody as investigations proceed. The case originates on the fact that she was allegedly involved in the promotion of betting and gambling applications, which are not allowed in Pakistani law.

Officials indicated that NCC is gathering and authenticating digital evidence that is related to the so-called promotions. The court ordered the prosecution to make sure that they submit the record of the case in time before the next hearing.

According to legal pundits, the number of cases which concern the promotion of online gambling has been on the rise over the last few years as the governments step up to combat illegal betting sites and internet-based financial offences.

On Aug. 20, Earlier, Saad Rehman was arrested by the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) and his wife posted pre-arrest bail. The court has ordered her to attend the subsequent hearing and thereafter proceedings would be determined after reviewing the material of the investigation.
