Lahore Roof Collapse Traps Tuition Teacher and Nearly 20 Children Under Debris

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged.

It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.

Emergency teams rescued a tuition teacher and nearly 20 children after a house roof collapsed during renovation work in Lahore’s Kahna area.

A tuition class in Lahore’s Kahna area turned into a scene of chaos on Tuesday evening after the roof of a residential house suddenly collapsed, trapping a teacher and nearly 20 children beneath the debris.

According to the initial police report, the incident occurred on June 30, 2026, in Basti Eid Gah, Ahlu Wali Gali, Kahna, within the Model Town Division. The house belongs to Rehan, son of Siddiq, whose wife, teacher Anila, regularly conducted tuition classes for neighborhood children.

Authorities said approximately 18 to 20 children, aged between 8 and 10 years, were attending the class when the roof collapsed. The roof, constructed with T-R girders, was reportedly undergoing tile installation at the time of the incident before it suddenly gave way.

Local residents and rescue personnel launched an immediate operation, successfully pulling teacher Anila and all trapped children from the rubble. The injured were shifted to Lahore General Hospital for emergency medical treatment.

Senior officials, including the Lahore Deputy Commissioner, the Lahore Commissioner, and the Model Town SP, reached the accident site to oversee rescue efforts. Later in the evening, the Lahore CCPO also arrived at Kahna Hospital to monitor the situation.
