The Pakistan Cricket Board has issued a show cause notice to Naseem Shah fast bowler of Peshawar Zalmi, for allegedly violating the terms of his central contract and the board’s media policy.
According to a PCB statement the notice has been served under its disciplinary framework, requiring Naseem to submit a response within a specified time. The board will decide on further action after reviewing his explanation, reaffirming its commitment to maintaining professional standards and the integrity of the game.
The controversy stems from a social media post made during the opening match of the Pakistan Super League season 11 at Gaddafi Stadium. The post later deleted, questioned the protocol given to Maryam Nawaz who attended the event as a guest of honour.
The remark quickly went viral, sparking debate among fans and the cricket community.
Responding to the incident, Naseem clarified that his account had been hacked and recently recovered, stating that the post did not reflect his personal views.
