A strong westerly weather system sweeping across Pakistan has prompted the Pakistan Meteorological Department to issue an advisory for Sindh, warning of rain, thunderstorms, and lightning in multiple districts on Saturday.
According to the Met Office, the system is expected to affect areas including Jamshoro, Dadu Jacobabad Sukkur Badin Tharparkar and Karachi. The disturbance entered through southwestern Balochistan and is likely to intensify in the coming days.
Officials warned that strong winds, hailstorms, and lightning could damage infrastructure such as electricity poles, billboards and solar panels, while also posing risks to agricultural activities. Farmers have been advised to take precautionary measures to protect crops.
In Karachi, weather conditions are expected to gradually change over the weekend, with partly cloudy skies and chances of light rain and isolated thunderstorms by Saturday. Temperatures are forecast to remain between 31°C and 34°C, with fluctuating humidity levels.
Authorities, including the Provincial Disaster Management Authority, have been directed to remain on high alert, ensure preparedness, and raise public awareness to minimize potential risks during the ongoing weather spell.
