PM Shehbaz Chairs High-Level Meeting to Boost Agriculture, Agri Exports

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged.

It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.

PM Shehbaz Sharif stresses federal-provincial coordination, innovation, value addition and new global markets to strengthen Pakistan’s agriculture sector and exports.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Friday chaired a high-level meeting on the development of Pakistan’s agriculture sector and the promotion of agricultural exports, emphasizing higher farm productivity, innovation and stronger coordination between the federal and provincial governments.

The prime minister said the agriculture sector has a key role in Pakistan’s economic growth and stability. He stressed the need for effective coordination and partnership between the federation and provinces to increase per-acre agricultural production, introduce innovation in farming, develop the livestock sector and expand agricultural exports.

Shehbaz directed relevant authorities to take coordinated measures to increase access to international markets for Pakistani agricultural products and identify new markets for the country’s farm produce.

He also directed Pakistan’s commercial officers posted at diplomatic missions abroad to play an effective role in promoting agricultural exports.

The prime minister emphasized the importance of value addition in agricultural products to increase exports from the sector. He said greater focus on value-added agricultural products was necessary to enhance Pakistan’s presence in international markets.

During the meeting, proposals were presented for the development of the agriculture sector and increasing agricultural exports.

The prime minister also directed authorities to launch an effective media campaign to increase awareness among farmers about a mobile application available for monitoring crops.
