PM Shehbaz Sharif commends Pakistan Navy and Pakistan Coast Guards for a joint anti-smuggling operation in Pishukan that seized a large quantity of contraband.
NEW YORK: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has praised the Pakistan Navy and Pakistan Coast Guards for successfully foiling a major smuggling attempt in Pishukan, Balochistan, according to the Prime Minister’s Office.
The operation was carried out jointly under the Joint Anti-Smuggling Operation, resulting in the seizure of a large quantity of prohibited items, including alcohol and illegal medicines.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif commended the participating institutions for their successful action against the smuggling attempt and emphasized the importance of coordination and cooperation among national institutions in combating smuggling.
He said effective inter-agency coordination was crucial to eliminating the menace of smuggling from the country.
The prime minister also praised the personnel who took part in the operation for their professionalism, vigilance and preparedness.
The Prime Minister’s Office issued the statement from New York on Sept. 23, 2026, highlighting the joint efforts of the Pakistan Navy and Pakistan Coast Guards in disrupting the reported smuggling attempt in the Pishukan area of Balochistan.
