Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif praised security forces for successful counterterrorism operations in Kharan and Washuk and vowed continued action against militant groups.
ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Wednesday praised Pakistan’s security forces for what he described as successful operations against terrorists in Balochistan, including the killing of 11 militants and the recovery of 2.9 tons of explosives.
According to the Prime Minister’s Office media wing, Shehbaz commended the security forces for their timely and effective response against terrorists operating under what the government described as Indian patronage.
The prime minister also praised the forces for foiling an attempt to block a road in Kharan and disrupt traffic and movement in the area.
Shehbaz separately lauded the security forces for destroying a terrorist hideout in Washuk and recovering 2.9 tons of explosive material during the operation.
He commended the forces for their professional capabilities and effective action against terrorist elements.
“The nefarious designs of terrorists and their facilitators will never succeed,” the prime minister said, according to the PM Office statement.
Shehbaz said terrorism carried out under Indian patronage would be completely eliminated and vowed that operations against Fitna al-Khawarij and other terrorist elements would continue with full force.
