Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif paid tribute to former national hockey captain and Olympic gold medalist Khalid Mahmood, praising his valuable services to Pakistan hockey.
ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has expressed deep grief and sorrow over the death of former Pakistan hockey captain and Olympic gold medalist Khalid Mahmood.
In a condolence message issued by the Prime Minister’s Office on Friday, Shehbaz Sharif paid tribute to Khalid Mahmood for his valuable services to national hockey.
The prime minister said Khalid Mahmood’s contribution to Pakistan hockey was worthy of recognition and paid tribute to his services to the country’s national sport.
Shehbaz Sharif also expressed condolences to the bereaved family and prayed for strength and patience for them during their time of grief.
The prime minister prayed for the forgiveness of the deceased and for the elevation of his ranks in the hereafter.
Khalid Mahmood was a former captain of Pakistan’s national hockey team and an Olympic gold medalist. His death has been mourned by the prime minister, who recognized his contribution to Pakistan hockey and his services to the country.
