Police in Rahim Yar Khan have intensified search operations targeting undocumented foreign nationals, detaining dozens of illegal Afghan residents during recent raids, officials confirmed on Friday.
According to a police spokesperson, teams from City and Sadiqabad circles conducted operations in multiple areas, where several families were taken into custody. A total of 43 individuals, including men, women, and children, were identified as illegal residents.
Authorities stated that all detainees have been shifted to a designated centre for further legal processing. Legal action has also been initiated against brick kiln owners accused of employing and sheltering undocumented Afghan nationals. Officials stressed that providing support or employment to illegal residents is a punishable offence under the law.
District Police Officer Irfan Ali Samo warned that strict action will be taken against anyone found facilitating or hiding illegal residents. He urged citizens to cooperate with law enforcement agencies by reporting such cases.
The DPO added that district-wide operations against criminal elements and undocumented foreigners will continue emphasizing that those aiding such individuals will also face legal consequences.
