Punjab Imposes Province-Wide Drone Ban, Violators Face Strict Legal Action

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged.

It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.

Punjab has imposed a province-wide ban on unauthorized drone operations under Section 144, citing public safety and security concerns, with legal action promised against violators.

The Punjab government has imposed a province-wide ban on the unauthorized use of drones, citing public safety, law and order, and the protection of citizens and property as its primary concerns.

According to a notification issued by the Punjab Home Department, the restriction has been enforced under Section 144(6) of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1898. Authorities said the decision was taken in response to growing security concerns linked to drone operations.

Under the new order, only individuals or organizations that obtain prior written approval from the Safe Drone Usage Committee will be allowed to operate drones. All other unauthorized drone flights are prohibited across Punjab until further notice.

The provincial government emphasized that maintaining public safety, preserving law and order, and protecting public and private property remain its top priorities. Officials warned that anyone found violating the restrictions will face legal action in accordance with the law.
