Sargodha: A prompt response by Rescue 1122 prevented a major fire at the furniture market in Iqbal Colony this morning. Authorities received an emergency call reporting that furniture placed outside a shop had suddenly caught fire.
Immediately after receiving the call, the District Emergency Control Room dispatched one ambulance and three fire trucks to the scene. Rescue personnel, including experienced staff, reached the market within just six minutes and quickly brought the fire under control.
Thanks to the team’s swift action and expertise, the fire did not spread further into the furniture market, and no casualties were reported.
Preliminary reports suggest that the fire may have been caused by a smoldering cigarette thrown onto the furniture by a passerby, possibly someone under the influence of drugs.
The incident highlights the importance of rapid emergency response in preventing property damage and potential loss of life.
