Shehbaz Sharif Rejects Fuel Price Hike Keeps Petrol and Diesel Rates Unchanged

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged.

It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has announced that petrol and diesel prices will remain unchanged, rejecting a proposal for a significant increase in fuel rates. Addressing the nation he extended Eid al Fitr greetings and emphasized the importance of unity and shared responsibility during the festive occasion.

The Prime Minister stated that the world is currently facing extraordinary challenges, with ongoing conflicts in the region affecting global peace and economic stability. He noted that attacks on energy installations in neighboring countries have further intensified the crisis raising concerns about its potential escalation.

Shehbaz Sharif highlighted the sharp rise in global oil prices, saying that crude oil which was around $72 per barrel a few weeks ago, has surged to approximately $158 per barrel. He added that this spike has contributed to rising inflation and increased financial pressure on citizens.

The Prime Minister revealed that proposals were submitted recommending an increase of Rs50 per liter in petrol and Rs74 per liter in diesel prices. However he rejected these recommendations, stating that such an increase would severely impact the lives of ordinary people.

He reaffirmed the government’s decision to maintain current fuel prices in order to provide relief to the public amid challenging economic conditions.
