US Blocks Iranian FM From UN Meeting as Washington-Tehran Tensions Deepen

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged.

It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.

Iran has issued a sharp warning to the United States, declaring that American military bases across the Middle East will no longer remain secure as tensions between Tehran and Washington continue to intensify despite ongoing diplomatic engagement.

In a strongly worded message released during the annual Hajj pilgrimage, Iran’s Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei said the balance of power in the region was shifting and that countries hosting American forces would no longer be able to shield US military installations from future threats.

“The United States will no longer have any safe haven in the region,” Khamenei said in remarks published through Iranian media and his Telegram channel.

The statement comes at a highly sensitive moment as indirect talks between Tehran and Washington continue in an effort to prevent a broader regional conflict following months of escalating tensions. Diplomatic mediators from regional and international actors have reportedly remained engaged in backchannel discussions aimed at reducing military risks.

Khamenei claimed that American influence in the Middle East was steadily weakening and argued that a “new Islamic civilisation” was emerging across the Muslim world. He linked this transformation to what Iran calls the “Axis of Resistance,” a network of allied groups and movements operating across countries including Lebanon, Palestine, Iraq, Syria, Yemen and beyond.

According to the Iranian leader, the slogan “Allahu Akbar” has become a unifying force among resistance groups throughout the region. He said the alliance now extended from Iran to several parts of the Middle East, Africa and even Pakistan.

Khamenei also warned that Washington would not be allowed to establish additional military bases in the region, insisting that America’s previous dominance in the Middle East was gradually fading.

The rhetoric was further intensified after Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps announced that it reserved the “legitimate and definite” right to retaliate against any alleged violations of a ceasefire by the United States.

Iranian state media reported that the Guards claimed to have shot down a US MQ-9 drone and opened fire on a fighter jet that allegedly entered Iranian airspace. However, there was no immediate response from American officials regarding those claims.

The latest developments highlight the fragile and unpredictable nature of relations between Tehran and Washington, with fears growing that any military miscalculation could trigger a wider conflict across the Gulf and the broader Middle East.

Iran has consistently opposed the American military presence in the region, where the US maintains troops and bases in several allied Gulf countries. Meanwhile, Washington continues to accuse Tehran of supporting armed proxy groups and destabilising regional security through its allies.

Political analysts say the timing of Khamenei’s message during Hajj was significant, as Iranian leaders have historically used the pilgrimage period to communicate ideological and geopolitical messages to Muslims around the world.
