The Pakistan Navy has welcomed the Chinese naval vessel PLA Navy Ship Daqing to participate in the fourth edition of the bilateral maritime exercise SEA GUARDIAN, scheduled from March 25 to April 2, 2026. The ship was received through a formal ceremony upon arrival, where Pakistan Navy vessels escorted it into port, reflecting traditional naval hospitality and the strong ties between Pakistan and China.
The exercise, known as SEA GUARDIAN, is designed to enhance cooperation between the two navies by improving coordination sharing operational experience, and strengthening interoperability in maritime operations. Officials stated that both sides view the exercise as a significant step toward promoting regional peace and stability.
A series of professional and operational activities will be conducted both in harbour and at sea. These include expert level discussions, seminars for young naval officers addressing modern maritime challenges coordinated patrol missions, and live gunnery drills.
Authorities highlighted that the exercise reflects the growing strategic partnership between Pakistan and China. It also underscores their shared commitment to maintaining security in regional waters. Over time, SEA GUARDIAN has become an important platform for deepening naval collaboration and enhancing maritime security cooperation between the two countries.
