Iran has granted special permission to two Pakistani vessels to safely pass through the Strait of Hormuz allowing them to exit Gulf waters after being stranded for nearly a month due to ongoing regional tensions. According to shipping sources, the Pakistan National Shipping Corporation (PNSC) vessel Multan and a chartered ship P Leki have successfully crossed the strategic waterway and are now on their way to Pakistan.
The chartered vessel P Leki is carrying approximately 85 million liters of crude oil making the shipment critically important for Pakistan’s energy supply. Both ships are expected to reach Pakistan by March 31. The vessels had remained stuck in the Persian Gulf since the escalation of conflict in the region, which disrupted maritime routes and heightened security concerns.
Shipping officials confirmed that both ships began their journey through the Strait of Hormuz a day earlier, navigating carefully through nearby Gulf waters. This is not the first time Iran has extended such cooperation as Pakistani ships have previously been granted similar permissions during periods of heightened tensions.
The development highlights continued coordination between Pakistan and Iran to ensure the smooth flow of essential trade and energy supplies despite regional instability.
