Islamabad United batter Devon Conway shares his early impressions of PSL 2026, praising the league’s competitiveness and Pakistan’s bowling strength.
ISLAMABAD: Devon Conway has lauded the quality of cricket in the Pakistan Super League 2026, describing it as highly competitive and a unique experience since arriving in Pakistan to represent Islamabad United.
In a recent interview with a private television channel, the New Zealand batter said he has been in Pakistan for a few weeks and is enjoying both the cricket and the local environment. Despite playing only one match so far, Conway said he was impressed by the overall standard of the league.
He particularly highlighted Pakistan’s strength in fast bowling, noting that the country continues to produce a large pool of talented pacers, alongside quality spin options. Conway added that facing his own teammates in practice, including captain Shadab Khan and all-rounder Imad Wasim, has been a challenging but valuable experience.
Expressing satisfaction over his inclusion in Islamabad United, Conway said it is an honor to be part of one of the league’s most successful franchises. He also praised Shadab Khan’s leadership, describing him as calm and approachable, fostering a family-like atmosphere within the squad.
When asked about his favorite venue in Pakistan, Conway named Karachi, recalling his enjoyable experience playing there during a past international tournament.
He added that he is gradually adapting to the local culture and has even started learning basic Urdu phrases to better connect with teammates and fans.
