High-level meeting in Beijing highlights deepening strategic cooperation and shared commitment to regional peace
BEIJING: Pakistan and China on Tuesday reaffirmed their long-standing strategic partnership and jointly announced a five-point initiative aimed at promoting peace and stability in West Asia following high-level talks in Beijing.
The discussions took place between Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar and Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi. According to an official statement, the meeting was held in an exceptionally warm and cordial atmosphere, featuring both one-on-one and delegation-level engagements.
Key Focus on Regional Stability and Economic Cooperation
Both sides reviewed the full spectrum of bilateral relations and pledged to further strengthen their all-weather strategic cooperative partnership. Emphasis was placed on high-quality development and expanding economic collaboration, particularly under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor framework.
A significant portion of the talks focused on evolving developments in West Asia, where both countries expressed concern over ongoing instability. The jointly issued five-point plan underscores diplomatic engagement, conflict resolution, and coordinated efforts at international forums.
