Web Desk — Iran has dismissed U.S. President Donald Trump’s claim that the new Iranian leadership requested a ceasefire with America. Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Ebrahim Baghai called the statement false and baseless, saying that U.S. miscalculations and provocations escalated the conflict, leaving the world unable to trust American diplomacy.
Baghai added that the Iranian people are not ready for negotiations with the U.S., noting that in the past, American diplomacy has often been used to impose its demands rather than resolve conflicts. He also stated that Iran’s new leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, is fully healthy but has remained out of the public eye due to the ongoing war conditions.
Meanwhile, Iran’s Revolutionary Guards asserted that they maintain full control over the Strait of Hormuz, and despite U.S. statements, the waterway will remain closed.
This comes after President Trump claimed that Iran’s new regime had requested a ceasefire. Iran, however, firmly rejected this assertion, emphasizing that any discussions with the U.S. are off the table for now. The standoff continues amid escalating tensions in the Middle East, with regional and global actors closely monitoring developments.
