Instagram users will soon be able to view stories without the poster knowing. Meta is testing a new feature under its upcoming Instagram Plus subscription service. Currently being trialed in the Philippines and Mexico, this paid service aims to offer features not available in the free version of the app.
The most notable feature allows subscribers to watch stories without appearing in the viewer list, ensuring privacy while browsing content. In addition, Instagram Plus users will gain access to several other perks, including the ability to post stories that remain visible for 48 hours instead of the usual 24.
Meta has confirmed the introduction of Instagram Plus, highlighting its plan to enhance the user experience for subscribers with exclusive tools and functionalities. The testing phase is limited, and the full rollout is expected after user feedback and adjustments.
This move aligns with Instagram’s strategy to expand subscription-based offerings, providing users more control over how they engage with content while generating additional revenue for the platform. Observers expect that the feature could significantly change how stories are viewed and shared, offering more anonymity and flexibility for users who want to explore content discreetly.
