Petitions Filed in Islamabad High Court for Imran Khan’s Lawyer Access and Early Hearing

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged.

It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.

ISLAMABAD: Petitions have been filed in the Islamabad High Court seeking early hearings of appeals and permission for Imran Khan to meet his lawyer for legal consultation.

The requests were submitted by Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi, challenging their convictions in the Toshakhana case announced on January 31, 2024. The petitions argue that their appeals remain pending and have not yet been scheduled for hearing, urging the court to fix them for immediate proceedings.

Barrister Salman Safdar filed the applications on their behalf. He also submitted a separate plea requesting permission for Imran Khan to meet his legal counsel regarding his appeal in the £190 million case.

The petition states that since December 20, 2025, Imran Khan has been unable to hold an effective meeting with his lawyer, depriving him of legal access for over three months. It emphasizes that the right to consult a lawyer is a fundamental right under prison rules and constitutional provisions.

The applications name the National Accountability Bureau (NAB), Inspector General of Prisons Punjab, and Adiala Jail authorities as respondents, alleging deliberate delays in case proceedings.
