Ghulam Bashah Sundri Sparks Outrage Over Nurses Remark

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged.

It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.

Fans and medical professionals demand an apology after the drama insulted nurses in a recent episode

KARACHI: The popular Green Entertainment drama Ghulam Bashah Sundri is under fire after a recent episode insulted nurses, sparking outrage among the medical community.

The drama, starring Hina Afridi, Zaviyar Nauman, and Imran Ashraf, has been a hit with viewers, drawing strong TRPs. Imran Ashraf plays Ghulam, a doctor, while Zaviyar Nauman portrays Bashah, an affluent landlord. Hina Afridi plays Sundri, a young and innocent girl who falls in love with Ghulam. So far, 26 episodes have aired.

Controversy erupted in episode 24, when Ghulam remarked that his expensive phone, misplaced in the operating theater, might be stolen by a nurse. The dialogue has been widely criticized for undermining the dedication of nurses, who devote their lives to saving others.

Many viewers voiced their anger on social media. One commented, “It is humiliating to call ‘Nurses’ thieves on national television.” Another said, “I was watching it with my family and felt insulted.” A third added, “After this dialogue, I stopped watching Ghulam Bashah Sundri.”

Medical professionals emphasized that nurses work when others rest and care when others walk away, demanding respect rather than slander. Critics are calling for an apology from the drama’s makers, warning that such portrayals damage public perception of healthcare professionals.

The debate highlights the responsibility of media creators in representing essential professions with accuracy and respect.
