The Punjab government has launched a new digital service allowing citizens to report lost identity documents without visiting police stations or service centres.
Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif inaugurated the “Punjab Police Pakistan App,” aimed at simplifying the process of reporting missing documents such as national identity cards, passports, driving licences, and other essential records.
Through the application, citizens can now file loss reports from home, eliminating the need to physically visit a police station or Khidmat Markaz. Once the report is submitted, a First Information Report (FIR) will also be issued digitally.
Officials said the initiative is part of the provincial government’s efforts to modernise public services through technology and improve convenience for citizens.
Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz said the move reflects the government’s commitment to using modern technology for public facilitation. She added that making Punjab a digitally advanced province remains a top priority.
She further noted that the app will save both time and resources for citizens by streamlining the reporting process and reducing unnecessary visits to government offices.
