The initiative introduces digital and helpline-based access to ensure wider farmer participation
The federal government has announced a farmer-friendly subsidy program in Islamabad aimed at supporting small-scale landowners and improving agricultural productivity. According to official details, the initiative specifically targets farmers who own less than 12.5 acres of land, ensuring that financial assistance reaches those most in need.
The program introduces a streamlined registration process through the Pakistan Asaan Khidmat App, enabling farmers to apply for subsidies in three simple steps. Applicants are required to provide personal information and upload relevant documents digitally to become eligible for the scheme. Authorities say this digitized approach will enhance transparency and reduce delays in subsidy disbursement.
Recognizing the digital divide, the government has also introduced an alternative registration method. Farmers without access to smartphones can register and seek guidance by contacting the dedicated helpline at 1725. This measure is expected to ensure inclusivity, particularly for farmers in remote or underserved areas.
Officials describe the initiative as part of broader efforts to strengthen the agricultural sector and support rural livelihoods. By focusing on small landholders, the program aims to boost crop yields, reduce financial burdens, and contribute to food security.
The government has urged eligible farmers to take advantage of the scheme and complete their registration promptly to benefit from the available subsidies.
