Pakistan emphasizes sustained diplomatic engagement as Iranian envoy discusses regional tensions and future negotiations with Prime Minister
ISLAMABAD: Reza Amiri Moghadam, the Ambassador of Iran to Pakistan, met with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Wednesday to discuss ongoing tensions between the United States and Iran, along with the broader regional security situation.
The meeting took place at the Prime Minister’s Office and was attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar and the premier’s adviser on foreign affairs Tariq Fatemi.
According to official sources, the discussion focused on the evolving geopolitical environment, particularly the strained relations between Washington and Tehran, and the potential pathways for de-escalation through dialogue.
During the meeting, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif encouraged the Iranian envoy to actively support and participate in the next phase of negotiations aimed at easing tensions between Iran and the United States.
