FIA Officer Suspended After CCTV Shows Trader Slapped During Karachi Raid

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged.

It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.

Karachi authorities have suspended the SHO of the FIA Anti-Corruption Circle after CCTV footage allegedly showed a trader being assaulted during a raid in the city’s busy Saddar market area.

The incident reportedly took place on May 14 during an FIA operation at a shop in Karachi. The CCTV video, which circulated widely on social media, appeared to show the trader attempting to leave the premises forcefully before an FIA official slapped him multiple times, sparking outrage among traders and the public.

According to an FIA spokesperson, the officer was suspended following an initial review of the available evidence and observations linked to the incident. The spokesperson stated that disciplinary action was taken to ensure transparency and accountability while the inquiry continues.

Meanwhile, the Director of FIA Karachi Zone also met with a delegation from the Sarafa Jewelers Association to discuss the alleged violence in the jewelry market. During the meeting, concerns raised by traders regarding the conduct of officials and the raid operation were reviewed in detail.

The FIA director assured the delegation that a complete and impartial investigation would be carried out and that all facts surrounding the incident would be examined fairly.

The episode has intensified concerns among Karachi’s business community regarding law enforcement conduct during raids and inspections, with traders demanding strict accountability and protection against abuse of authority.
