A growing storm surrounds Pakistani television star Momina Iqbal as her wedding preparations overlap with an ongoing harassment complaint involving a political figure, turning her personal milestone into a high-profile legal and media flashpoint.
The actress, known for her strong performances in dramas such as Khuda Aur Mohabbat 3, Ehd-e-Wafa, and Do Kinaray, has reportedly alleged harassment ahead of her wedding, prompting her to file an online complaint that triggered police attention and an official inquiry.
According to statements shared by her family, the matter is being actively pursued by her sister Ramsha Iqbal, who confirmed that evidence was submitted during recent proceedings and authorities subsequently contacted the accused, a Punjab Assembly member affiliated with PML-N.
Ramsha Iqbal told media representatives that the response from officials was “positive” and that the case is progressing with cooperation from law enforcement. She also emphasized that while the family appreciates public support, they are attempting to keep the matter from becoming overly sensationalized in the media.
Security concerns have also escalated around the family. According to the legal representative, protective arrangements have been extended not only to Momina Iqbal but also to her in-laws as the situation continues to unfold. The family claims that threats were received by both the actress’s fiancé and his relatives.
Amid the legal proceedings, wedding details have also emerged. The actress is reportedly set to marry Muhammad Hamza Habibi in an arranged marriage. Her Nikah is scheduled for 1st June, according to her sister’s statement, marking a major personal milestone even as legal tensions remain unresolved.
Ramsha Iqbal further stated that she intends to pursue the case firmly, citing her legal background and international qualifications, and insisted that all claims are being supported by documentation and lawful procedure.
The case continues to attract public attention due to Momina Iqbal’s rising popularity and the involvement of political figures, raising broader questions about accountability, safety, and the intersection of celebrity life with legal disputes in Pakistan’s media landscape.
