Karachi: Police have arrested Kamran, the brother of accused Anmol alias Pinky, during an intelligence-based operation in Karachi, alleging that he was involved in narcotics trafficking across the city.

According to police, the suspect was apprehended near Ghora Chowrangi by a team from Jamshed Quarters Police Station after authorities received information about his location. Officers said they recovered more than two kilograms of high-quality cannabis and around half a kilogram of crystal meth (ice). A mobile phone, wallet, national identity card and cash were also seized during the raid.

Police registered two cases against Kamran under the Control of Narcotic Substances Act at Jamshed Quarters Police Station. The recovered narcotics have been taken into custody as evidence, and legal proceedings are underway.

Investigators allege that Kamran supplied cannabis, crystal meth and heroin to multiple areas of Karachi and was part of an organised drug trafficking network. Police further claim the group was involved in distributing narcotics among young people and promoting drug abuse. Efforts are continuing to identify and arrest other suspected members of the alleged network.

According to police records, Kamran has previously been arrested in narcotics-related cases, served time in jail and faced additional drug trafficking charges in 2022.
