10 Militants Killed in Major Security Operation in Balochistan’s Khuzdar

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged.

It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.

Security forces killed 10 militants affiliated with Fitna al-Hindustan during an intelligence-based operation in Balochistan’s Khuzdar district.

At least 10 militants affiliated with Fitna al-Hindustan were killed during an exchange of fire with security forces in Balochistan’s Khuzdar district, according to security sources.

The operation was launched in the Shor Parod mountainous area after intelligence reports indicated the presence of militants in the region. Pakistani authorities describe Fitna al-Hindustan as an India-backed militant network.

Security personnel engaged the militants in an intense exchange of fire during the operation. Several other militants were reportedly injured, while security forces continued efforts to clear the area and disrupt the group’s activities.

Officials reiterated that intelligence-based and targeted operations would continue against militant networks involved in attacks and other violent activities. Security forces have maintained a heightened focus on areas considered vulnerable to militant activity.

The Khuzdar operation came just days after another counterterrorism action in Balochistan in which several militants were killed following the premature detonation of a vehicle-borne improvised explosive device, or VBIED.

According to security officials, the explosive device detonated prematurely in Surab district while militants were allegedly preparing it. The blast killed several members of the group and disrupted what officials described as preparations for a possible attack.

Security forces subsequently conducted an operation in the area after detecting the movement of militants attempting to leave. The latest incidents underscore the continuing security challenges in Balochistan, where militant attacks and counterterrorism operations remain a major concern.

Pakistan has faced increased militant violence in recent years, particularly in Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Security authorities have continued operations aimed at disrupting militant networks, preventing planned attacks and targeting their operational infrastructure.

A Centre for Research and Security Studies report on violence during the second quarter of 2026 identified Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan as Pakistan’s main violence hotspots. The two provinces together accounted for nearly 96% of violence-related fatalities recorded nationwide during the period.

The report recorded 475 fatalities in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and 265 in Balochistan. It also documented 151 violent incidents in KP and 94 in Balochistan during the quarter.

The latest Khuzdar operation highlights the continued pressure on militant groups as Pakistani security forces pursue intelligence-led operations across high-risk areas.
