Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif says Major Aziz Bhatti Shaheed’s courage and sacrifice during the 1965 war remain a lasting symbol of patriotism and national defense.
Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif on Saturday paid tribute to Major Raja Aziz Bhatti Shaheed on the 61st anniversary of his martyrdom, honoring the Nishan-i-Haider recipient for his courage and sacrifice in defense of Pakistan.
In a message issued on Sept. 12, the prime minister said the entire nation pays heartfelt tribute to Major Aziz Bhatti Shaheed on his martyrdom anniversary.
He described Major Aziz Bhatti’s sacrifice as a shining chapter of bravery and courage in Pakistan’s history of national defense.
During the 1965 war, Major Aziz Bhatti fought with determination in the Lahore-Burki sector and stood firm against the enemy, the prime minister said. He embraced martyrdom on Sept. 12, 1965, while defending the country.
Prime Minister Shehbaz said the nation salutes the spirit of patriotism and devotion demonstrated by all martyrs, particularly Major Aziz Bhatti Shaheed.
He said the names of the martyrs remain symbols of selfless love for the country, while Major Aziz Bhatti’s supreme sacrifice for Pakistan represents a national asset.
“The soil of the homeland bears witness that its brave sons are always ready to risk their lives for its sanctity and defense,” the prime minister said in his message.
He added that an unwavering commitment to the security and defense of the country remains deeply rooted in the national spirit.
The prime minister further described Major Raja Aziz Bhatti Shaheed’s unparalleled sacrifice and bravery as a symbol of national pride and a source of inspiration for younger generations.
Major Aziz Bhatti was awarded Pakistan’s highest military gallantry award, the Nishan-i-Haider, for his bravery during the 1965 war.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif prayed to Allah Almighty to elevate the martyr’s ranks and grant him a high place in the hereafter.
