KP Health Minister Khaliq ur Rehman says the provincial government is working to expand physiotherapy services and create professional opportunities for graduates.
PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Health Minister Khaliq ur Rehman has said the provincial government is taking practical steps to address the concerns of physiotherapists, create employment and professional development opportunities for young graduates, and strengthen physiotherapy services within the public healthcare system.
He made the remarks while addressing a ceremony organized by the All Pakistan Physiotherapy Association in Peshawar, where he attended as the chief guest.
Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Faisal Karim Kundi, former MPA Nighat Orakzai, MPA Arbab Zarak Khalil and other relevant officials also attended the event.
The health minister said the approval of house jobs for physical therapy graduates and a service structure for physiotherapists represented important developments for the profession.
He said work was also underway to expand physiotherapy services at Basic Health Units (BHUs), Tehsil Headquarters (THQ) hospitals and District Headquarters (DHQ) hospitals, along with the creation of new positions.
Khaliq ur Rehman assured physiotherapists that their legitimate demands would be addressed on a priority basis. He said the government would continue working to bring quality physiotherapy and rehabilitation services closer to the public.
The minister also emphasized the importance of providing young physiotherapists with better opportunities for employment and professional growth while improving the availability of rehabilitation services across the province.
The government’s measures are aimed at strengthening the role of physiotherapy within the public healthcare system and expanding access to rehabilitation services at the grassroots level.
