Xiaomi 18 Pro’s Geekbench appearance reveals its unannounced Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro chipset, 16GB RAM and early benchmark scores.
Xiaomi’s upcoming Xiaomi 18 Pro has appeared on Geekbench with a new model number and an unannounced Qualcomm chipset, offering an early look at the flagship’s expected performance ahead of its official unveiling later this month.
The prototype was listed under model number M154FF and is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro, which is currently identified by its internal codename, SM8975. Qualcomm has not yet formally unveiled the chipset.
The model number is also notable because it differs from Xiaomi’s established phone-numbering pattern, which has typically followed a year-and-month-based system. While the change does not establish anything unusual about the device, it represents a departure from the company’s previous convention.
The Geekbench 7 listing recorded 2,871 points in the single-core test and 8,836 points in the multi-core test. However, other Geekbench results associated with the same M154FF model have posted significantly higher scores, including 3,619 points in single-core and 11,842 points in multi-core testing.
The variation highlights the limitations of benchmark results from prototype hardware. Devices at this stage can run unfinished software and use unoptimized thermal profiles, meaning individual Geekbench scores may not accurately represent the performance of final retail units.
The listed Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro processor reaches a peak clock speed of 5.01GHz on its fastest core. The eight-core configuration is expected to include three efficiency cores, a mid-tier cluster and two high-performance prime cores, indicating a substantial increase in clock speed compared with the previous Snapdragon 8 Elite generation.
The tested Xiaomi 18 Pro prototype also featured 16GB of RAM. Xiaomi is expected to offer multiple memory configurations for the retail device, although the company has not yet confirmed the complete lineup.
On the software side, the Geekbench listing identifies HyperOS 4 based on Android 17, matching Xiaomi’s previously previewed software direction. Separate certification filings have indicated support for 100W wired charging on both the Xiaomi 18 Pro and Xiaomi 18 Pro Max.
However, the Geekbench listing does not reveal other key specifications, including the display, cameras, battery capacity or pricing. Xiaomi has confirmed that the 18 Pro series will launch later this month but has not provided an exact unveiling date.
The Xiaomi 18 Pro benchmark appearance comes amid other reported sightings of Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro-powered smartphones, including an iQOO 16 prototype. Qualcomm is expected to formally announce the chipset this month.
For now, the Geekbench results provide an early indication of the Xiaomi 18 Pro’s hardware rather than a definitive measure of its retail performance. Final benchmark results could differ once the phone reaches consumers with finished software and optimized hardware configurations.
