Prince Harry says Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet have settled into their new school after security concerns disrupted their initial UK arrangements.
Prince Harry has confirmed that his children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, have settled into their new school following a change in their schooling arrangements in the UK.
Speaking at the Invictus Spirit Gala Dinner and Awards in London, Harry said Archie and Lilibet are now attending school and have adjusted to their new routine. He described the family’s first two weeks back in Britain as eventful but said they were happy to be there.
Harry also spoke positively about being back in the UK as he prepares for next year’s Invictus Games in Birmingham. He attended the London event without his wife, Meghan Markle.
The couple had reportedly withdrawn Archie and Lilibet from their original school shortly after the beginning of the new term. The decision followed discussions with the family’s security team over the practical challenges involved in the children’s daily journey to and from school.
A representative for the couple said the decision came after security officials assessed the family’s existing arrangements. The family reportedly remained appreciative of the school staff and the care provided to their children.
Security checks had reportedly been carried out at the school before the start of the term. However, the children’s daily journey had not been tested beforehand, creating difficulties after they began attending.
The family subsequently enrolled Archie and Lilibet at another school. However, another security concern reportedly arose after Markle joined a parents’ WhatsApp group and her personal phone number was allegedly shared among members.
The incident reportedly followed an exchange between Markle and other parents, after which a screenshot containing her number was circulated within the group.
Security arrangements surrounding the family have continued to receive attention. Markle has reportedly undergone her first government-backed security review, while the couple is expected to undergo an official risk assessment.
Reports also said the family has been asked to provide detailed information about their daily routines as part of the security assessment.
