ISLAMABAD: (Ayesha Naz) National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq on Friday strongly condemned a suicide attack at an imambargah on the outskirts of Rawalpindi, expressing deep sorrow over the loss of lives and injuries caused by the blast.
In a statement, Ayaz Sadiq denounced the attack, allegedly carried out by a suicide bomber linked to “Fitna al-Hindustan,” calling it a cowardly act targeting innocent worshippers. He extended heartfelt condolences to the families of those killed in the attack and assured them of the nation’s solidarity during their time of grief.
“I share the pain and sorrow of the bereaved families who lost their loved ones in this tragic incident,” Ayaz Sadiq said. He described the targeting of unarmed and peaceful worshippers as a heinous and condemnable act of terrorism, adding that such violence cannot be justified under any religion or ideology.
The National Assembly speaker emphasized that terrorists are enemies of humanity and said their actions are aimed at spreading fear and instability. He asserted that groups involved in such attacks would never succeed in their malicious objectives.
Sadiq further stated that acts of terrorism cannot weaken the resolve of Pakistan’s security forces and the nation, reiterating the country’s commitment to eliminating terrorism in all its forms.
He also prayed for the swift recovery of those injured in the explosion and sought divine blessings for the departed souls. Sadiq urged authorities to ensure the best possible medical treatment for the wounded and called for continued national unity against extremist threats.
