Islamabad High Court Bar Election Dispute Deepens Over Biometric Voting Cancellation

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged.

It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.

Candidates raise rigging concerns after last-minute decision to scrap biometric voting in IHCBA polls

ISLAMABAD: A controversy has intensified in the Islamabad High Court Bar Association (IHCBA) elections after the sudden cancellation of biometric voting, prompting strong objections from candidates who allege potential manipulation of the electoral process.

Chaudhry Ashraf Gujjar, a leading presidential candidate and Advocate of the Supreme Court, claimed that the decision to conduct elections through biometric verification had been finalized following his written request, in line with the Islamabad Bar model. According to him, the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) had completed all necessary arrangements for the voting process.

However, the late-night reversal of the biometric voting plan has raised suspicions among contestants. Gujjar described the move as questionable and alleged that a “defeated group” was attempting to influence the outcome through irregular means.

He urged lawyers across Islamabad to actively participate in the voting process at the High Court building on Constitution Avenue, stressing the importance of safeguarding transparency.

Meanwhile, reactions from other candidates and members of the legal community are expected as tensions mount over the election’s credibility.
