Pakistan skipper says team is fully prepared, backs Usman Tariq as key weapon before marquee encounter
Pakistan national cricket team captain Salman Ali Agha has expressed strong confidence ahead of the much-anticipated match against India national cricket team, calling it a high-intensity contest for which his side is fully prepared.
Speaking at a pre-match press conference, Agha said the team is ready to deliver a strong performance. He described spinner Usman Tariq as a “trump card” for Pakistan, dismissing renewed concerns over the bowler’s action. “He has already been cleared twice. It is hard to understand why the issue is still being raised,” the captain said.
Agha emphasized that Pakistan has planned for all possible match situations. He noted that spinners are expected to play a key role against India, while fast bowlers will also be used strategically depending on conditions.
Addressing weather concerns, the skipper said rain is beyond anyone’s control but confirmed that the team has contingency plans in case of a reduced-overs contest. He added that all 15 squad members are in contention, stressing that every player is equally important.
Agha expressed hope that the match would be played in a positive spirit, saying the tone of the contest would ultimately depend on the opposition’s approach.
