Imran Khan’s Lawyer Requests Urgent Hospital Transfer Over Eye Issues

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged.

It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.

Lawyer Latif Khosa highlights inadequate treatment and rights violations at Adiala Jail

Islamabad, Pakistan – Lawyer Latif Khosa, representing former prime minister Imran Khan, has petitioned Chief Justice Yahya Afridi to order the immediate transfer of Khan to Al-Shifa Hospital for treatment of a serious eye condition. Reports indicate Khan has lost approximately 85% of vision in his right eye, prompting health concerns.

In a letter to the Supreme Court, Khosa said the condition cannot be adequately treated at Adiala Jail, where Khan has been held since 2023. He also claimed that Khan’s statutory rights have been repeatedly violated, including being denied family visits for over four months. Khosa criticized a recent February 15 medical examination in the jail for being conducted without the presence of Khan’s family, personal doctors, or legal representatives.

The appeal comes amid a four-day opposition sit-in demanding Khan’s transfer to a medical facility.

Earlier, Federal Law Minister Azam Nazeer Tarar stated that doctors are satisfied with Khan’s medical care. He said Khan’s right eye currently has about 70% vision with corrective glasses, while the left eye maintains normal 6/6 vision, dismissing circulating concerns about vision deterioration.
