Ali Larijani says Iran will confront foreign interference and internal unrest with decisive measures
TEHRAN: Iran’s senior official Ali Larijani announced the formation of a temporary leadership council on Sunday, signaling a firmer stance against what he described as coordinated efforts by the United States and Israel to weaken the country.
Speaking in Tehran, Larijani accused Washington and Tel Aviv of attempting to destabilize Iran by encouraging internal divisions. He warned that any separatist movements seeking to create unrest would face a “decisive and uncompromising response.”
“Iran will not allow foreign powers to undermine its unity,” he said, adding that external pressure campaigns have only strengthened public resolve.
Larijani also alleged that Israel’s broader regional strategy is based on fragmenting powerful nations to secure its own survival. He claimed U.S. policies reflect a long-standing pattern of exploiting other countries’ resources.
Referring to Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, Larijani highlighted his emphasis on simplicity and resilience during challenging times, portraying it as a model for national endurance.
Political observers say the announcement comes amid heightened regional tensions and appears aimed at reinforcing domestic cohesion. Iranian authorities have reiterated that safeguarding national security remains a top priority as geopolitical strains continue to escalate.
