PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has described the reported assassination of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei as a tragedy that has shaken the world. In a statement he expressed condolences and prayed for patience for those grieving the loss warning that rising tensions between Iran Israel and Gulf states pose a serious threat to regional and global peace.
Defence Minister Khawaja Asif urged citizens to remain calm as protests erupted in parts of the country. He emphasized that Pakistan has supported Iran diplomatically and cautioned that violence would only benefit hostile forces. He stressed the importance of maintaining internal stability.
Religious scholar Allama Syed Shahenshah Hussain Naqvi also appealed for peace, urging people not to let emotions lead to unrest. He called for unity and patience referencing the lessons of sacrifice associated with Hazrat Hussain (RA).
Meanwhile, tensions flared outside the United States Consulate General Karachi where protests turned violent, prompting law enforcement intervention as demonstrators condemned the alleged airstrikes on Tehran.
